I have not always worked in the Legal Sector and my career history is pretty varied but this has allowed me to provide a more varied outlook for the company.
I know from having served in the Royal Navy Submarine Service how important it is to be surrounded with the best people and people you trust. We have a fantastic team of people working here and over the last year we have really gone from strength to strength.

I love NHL because: It’s given me the opportunity to have an input into a great company. It’s rewarding, challenging and enjoyable. The team at NHL have helped make our vision a reality.

How would your colleagues describe you: I am very active and enjoy mountain biking, running, swimming. I also enjoy going for walks with Claire and our two child Darcey and Matilda.

I started my career in Conveyancing when I left school. I have worked hard to qualify as a Licensed Conveyancer and am now the Conveyancing Director of New Homes Law. My role is to oversee all of the day to day operations within the company.

I love NHL because: The company is growing and evolving every day. We have a terrific team of experienced people that we have come to look upon as our NHL family. Over the past few years we have introduced many innovative working processes that set us ahead of others in the New Build arena and make us an extremely efficient company.

I have developed my career in Conveyancing since I left school and subsequently studied part time whilst working, to qualify as a Solicitor. I worked for two large legal firms in the South West and I am now a Solicitor at New Homes Law and manage our Exeter Office, overseeing the Residential, Shared Ownership and New Build departments in our South West Division.

I love NHL because: The company has a modern approach and looks after both its clients and staff. It is exciting to be able to expand upon and recreate the efficient processes and friendly customer service in our South West office, that our South East Division have developed.

When I’m not in the office: I love bike riding, cinema, cooking and seeing my family and friends.

I have worked in conveyancing for about 17 years, for the majority of which I have specialised in New build conveyancing. I have acted previously on behalf of the developers but for the past 10 years have been acting as a recommended panel solicitor for buyers from some of the country's biggest developers. Over the years I have become very used to working to tight deadlines and under extreme pressure.

My regulatory and compliance background lends itself really well to Operations as well as training and risk assessment. I also have some teaching experience and am able to help my colleagues with their studies for their professional qualifications.

I love NHL because: It brings new challenges, with diversity and development for the role and the business. The staff are a fun crew and we all work well together with good support and appreciation from each other and our directors.

In April 2014 I decided to come back to my roots and get back into the fast paced life of Conveyancing, specialising in Shared Ownership transactions which I am thoroughly enjoying.

At NHL I specialise in Shared Ownership and Help to Buy, dealing with all aspects of staircasing and redemption of Help to Buy equity loans. My career started in the financial sector, I gained a lot of mortgage knowledge and experience and made the cross over into property conveyancing. It can get very busy in the office, but it’s all about managing the time, making sure we meet and exceed our clients’ expectations.

I love NHL because: The close and friendly atmosphere in the office. We’re all very supportive, if anyone’s got a problem we’re all here to help one another and use all our experience to come up with a successful solution.

How would your colleagues describe you: Probably as ‘Mum’ I like to think people feel they can turn to me for help, if they’re stressed about something or uncertain.

When I’m not in the office: Investing in some retail therapy! My husband and I also really love going to Italy for our holidays and long weekends to Italian cities. We also love to get out to the South coast and enjoy days out together.

I have worked in conveyancing for 5 years now starting as an administrative assistant and working my way up to being able to run my own files and taking the Council for Licensed Conveyancers course.  I did not however start my career in law and my back ground is in retail management and equine therapy and sports training/science as well as coaching riders to competitive levels.

I love NHL because: Unlike many law firms they care both about their Clients and their staff.  This makes it a wonderful environment to work in.

When I’m not in the office: I care for my horse, I perform on stage as a singer and I love to create costumes for competitions at events all over the country in which I have had some success.  I also like to read, write short stories and walk my dogs.
